Mike Evanko

Owner, Maui Payroll
 

Mike is on a mission to make entrepreneur’s lives easier with his. His passion for numbers began with his job as a bank teller in 1976. After five years in banking, Mike was called to the world of entrepreneurship. In 1981, he bought his father’s piano tuning business, tuning 6,000 pianos a year from San Diego to Santa Barbara.

Managing a team of six employees and one hundred subcontractors, Mike learned first hand how bookkeeping and payroll practices can make or break a company. Lucky for him, a kindly CPA took him under his wing and taught him everything he knew. This valuable knowledge made his life as an entrepreneur so much easier — and it’s this same blessing that Mike seeks to pay forward with every client he works with. He began working as a bookkeeper on Maui in 2015 and established Maui Payroll, LLC in 2021.

Mike lives in Kihei, Maui with his wife Tammy. They have been married since 1977 and have eight children. In his free time, you are likely to run into Mike taking a long walk on one of Maui’s beautiful beaches, searching for sea turtles.
